Biography
Beatriz Rose is a licensed NCIDQ interior designer with a master’s degree in Interior Architecture, and a background in film.
Born in São Paulo to Taiwanese parents, Beatriz spent her childhood in Brazil before moving to Los Angeles. This multi-cultural upbringing stirred a thoughtful and curious mind, while a fascination with illustration, film and theatre further shaped her creative vision from a young age.
Always with a notebook and drafting pen in hand, Beatriz saw the opportunity to combine a love of historic homes with her passion for storytelling.
Upon graduating from Cal Poly Pomona and UCLA Extension’s joint program (M. INT. ARCH), she spent a decade designing for several renowned architectural and interior design firms in Los Angeles, before starting her own practice in 2017.
Beatriz’s narrative-driven style is grounded in a deep knowledge of historical architecture and design, and deftly infused with comfort and a sense of playfulness. The homes she designs are beautifully proportioned, with a soulfulness that balances colour, materials and imaginative detailing to create a timelessness that feels right for place.
From masterplanning an entire house to creation of custom furniture and millwork, our designs always start at the drawing board.
Process The studio works on a small number of whole house projects at a time, ensuring each gets the creative attention it needs, and so Beatriz can be closely involved throughout. Nurturing warm and trusting relationships with clients is central to our work, and it is wonderful to see these develop over a project’s key phases; from schematic design and development, through to construction administration, and final install.

Services
In a short space of time our studio has established its reputation in Los Angeles, and Beatriz’s experience is increasingly sought for restoration of the city’s historic homes. From Spanish Colonial, American Craftsman to Queen Anne style, we love working with historic buildings, breathing new life into them, and making them fit for life today.
We also take on interior design commissions for new traditional homes, where clients are seeking a period or vernacular language, to create a distinctive and timeless character that is layered and comfortable, well-proportioned, liveable, and with a strong sense of place.
No matter the project size, we apply the same robust technical skills, deep architectural understanding, intuitive creative approach, and exacting attention to detail.
We collaborate closely with architects, landscape designers and other specialist contractors, and are proud to work with a network of skilled craftspeople to create objects and spaces where the human hand is always felt.
The studio’s current projects include homes in Santa Monica, Venice Beach, Hollywood, Silver Lake, and South Pasadena.
